It occurs to me that not everyone celebrates Christmas in a tropical climate. With that in mind, today's outfit of the day features a cosy cashmere coat and a yummy wool sweater. I suppose you can also wear tights to avoid frostbite, if you must. Anyway, this post is inspirational, do with it what you will.
On the sixth day of Christmas, our true love gave six geese a-laying (or six geese a-layering?!). We're not going to take this too literally, I used a robin's egg blue sweater and let's leave it at that, okay?
I imagine this outfit would be perfect for some day-time holiday affair with the fam like a matinee trip to see the Rockettes or The Nutcracker.
Above: Carven mint sweater, Vaughan greige silk shirt, Peter Piliotto jaquard skirt, Pucci lavender coat, Dior bag and Manolo suede pumps.
If you're a regular reader of this blog, you know that the reason I love silk shirts so much is because they're easy to transition from day to night. I think this is the perfect outfit to show you exactly what I mean. The look above is definitely very preppy and daytime. But with just a few tweeks, it quickly becomes a polished ensemble that's great for dinner/drinks.
Don't you hate it when a style blog tells you how to transition day-to-night, but you have to change your shoes/shirt/pants/hair and makeup? I'm not doing that, I promise.
You will literally peel off that turquoise sweater, pop an extra button, throw on a necklace and change your bag. I think that's doable, no? If there's time to freshen up your eye makeup, perfect! This Bobbi Brown compact has the prettiest colors from basic nudes to metallics. Voila!
