Style your shirt: The DIY peplum

I can't say I'm much of a DIYer, but how about a DIY peplum top with no cutting/sewing/gluing?  Not bad, right?  The secret is all in layering.  Check out this image from Elizabeth and James Resort 2015.  I love how the airy-breezy top is layered under a graphic, mid-to-heavy weight top.  The effect is really lovely.

The Bettie shirt is a fine, lightweight silk which would be perfect for this style.  Try the basic white Stark Naked or go bold with 4 other candy hues.

I'm envisioning this as a really easy way to re-style your crop tops or even just add a little mono-chromatic interest to a classic pop over top. Check it out:
