Friday find: liquid gold lacquer from Butter London

Burnished gold is the stuff of Klimt paintings, ancient jewelry, and dreams. Possibly also your nails, if you happen to get your hands on a bottle of this shimmering yellow-gold lacquer from Butter London. It's named "Marbs" after Marbella in Spain, the kind of place where sands are golden and skin equally so - but you don't have to be bronzed by the Mediterranean to pull off a metallic gold nail polish. Gold, as it happens, is perfect in all temperatures.

When gold comes into proximity with vibrant blue, it's another magic again. It's Van Gogh's starry nights and celestial vaulted ceilings and the tile mosaics of exotic Moroccan bath houses. With those images springing to mind, is it any wonder we're lusting after some of Butter London's liquid gold so we can work it with our blue Cassie blouse?

With a bit of inspiration from the painted vaulted ceiling at Carlisle Cathedral in Cumbria, England, we love the rich gold metallic paired with the brilliant blue Cassie blouse. Pair with a McQueen wool skirt, Gianvito Rossi pumps, and you're (forgive the pun) golden.
