Solve your "What to Wear" dilemma.

Friday Finds: Mixed media with Bea Valdes

Since this little Bea Valdes stunner launched on Moda Operandi, I can't get it out of my head. Clearly, it ticks all of the boxes of my "things I look for in a clutch" list. Meet the Waimee.

  • It's extravagant. Beading with crystal, suede, satin and leather
  • It's frivolous. Um, it has cat ears?
  • My phone fits comfortably inside (score!)

The Waimee clutch is a perfect example of a goes-with-everything-matches-nothing piece. It would totally elevate my tee and jeans uniform and would most definitely add interest to a classic little cocktail dress.

VAUGHAN silk blouse, Bea Valdes clutch, Tamara Mellon skirt, Nars gold liner & gloss, Jimmy Choo sandals.

The Waimee clutch is perfect for your inner achingly-cool-art-teacher-cum-cat-lady. It's silly, it's awesome. I'd pair it with this Tamara Mellon fringe skirt and a green cap sleeve Bettie. Classic pumps will work, but I'd go with a frivolous sandal in an exotic skin. The whole effect is very mixed media.

Editor's note: I am dying to wear this exact combination. I snagged the Tamara Mellon skirt before the holidays and am psyched to pair it with a Bettie. I think the silk / leather / cap sleeves / slim midi will be an amazing combination.

As a little bonus, Bea Valdes is a fellow Asia-based designer. The company is based in the Philippines where they do all of their manufacturing. Whenever possible, I love to support other local designers. All of her clutches are beyond. Am currently crippled by indecision which happens when there are so many beautiful pieces in once place. Eeks.
