The women I admire most tend to have a heck of a lot going on in their lives. They're not exactly nine-to-five types, but instead have rich lives and varied interests that take them far outside an ordinary workday. These are not the types of women who show up to dinner 30 minutes late because they couldn't figure out what to wear. They've got no time for that nonsense, and rightfully so.
Like many of these lady-hustlers, I'm a big fan of adopting a style uniform, especially for your weekday. Chances are that regardless of your occupation you have some sort of routine that you stick to fairly closely. Which means your day-to-day needs are going to be pretty similar.
I recommend starting by building a wardrobe full of really fantastic pieces. If you need a white shirt, get the best one you can find with a fit you love. If you're after black trousers, wait to find a pair that make you feel amazing. It's possible that getting "the best" means you're going to start paying a little more than your used to. That's okay, within reason. I'd be willing to bet that if you held out to buy only pieces you truly love, you'll save money in the long run while still looking a lot more pulled together.
A basic blouse and black trousers. Not exactly groundbreaking, are they?
Like anything, when done well, the effect can be quite impressive.
Take today's outfit of the day. We've styled our Cassie pussybow blouse with super sleek JW Anderson trousers and luxe accessories. The whole look is polished and can be pulled together within seconds. A perk of owning truly great clothes? It doesn't take much work to make them look good and in turn they will make you look fabulous.
Other key items you should be on the lookout for include a pair (or three) of statement sunnies, a versatile watch, a polished handbag and classic pumps.
