Unbuttoned with Amanda Pastyrnak, designer and founder of Olga Pastyrnak

"'Power Dressing', a term that traditionally conjures up images of the "9 to 5" pantsuit, boxy jackets, and ill-fitting skirts, has evolved into the right balance of sexy, feminine, and sophistication. Not only is this way of dressing appropriate at the office, but the new concept of "Power Dressing" is designed to invite success in all areas of life, and fits seamlessly with any cocktail hour, or even a Saturday night date."

This is the concept behind the new women's wear brand Olga Pastyrnak and a philosophy I can personally get behind. The idea of "success in all areas of life", it is certainly one of the principals behind VAUGHAN, so I was very eager to get to know a bit more about Olga Pastyrnak and its founder, Amanda Pastyrnak.

Meet Amanda Pastyrnak

Amanda is a true style maven, entrepreneur, and emerging designer of the new women’s wear brand, Olga Pastyrnak.

A self-described "true nerd", Amanda holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Hispanic Studies from Boston College. She studied at L’Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris, France. Then, several years after graduation and working in a variety of industries, Amanda pursued a degree in Fashion Design from Parsons School of Design in New York City.

In early 2015, Amanda launched her eponymous label to share her innovative “Power Dressing” concept and style with female consumers throughout the United States. “I created this collection as a way to allow all women to dress for the best version of themselves. The Olga Pastyrnak brand is all about the new way of ‘Power Dressing’ – dressing for all facets of life outside of work, while still retaining the aesthetic we’ve come to view as powerful,” says Amanda. “The Olga Pastyrnak brand is essentially the anti-fashion fashion brand that is dedicated to helping empowering women showcase themselves in the most compelling way possible.”

Amanda speaks English, French, and Spanish. She has lived in Paris, France and Zaragoza, Spain and finds inspiration in other cultures and world perspectives. An avid tennis and squash player, a private pilot, and a classically trained pianist, Amanda currently lives on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
