When gloomy weather's got me feeling low it's so easy to reach for a chunky cashmere sweater. Problem is, after a long winter it's easy to get into a bit of a rut. My idea is to defy the gloom and add a bit of color. Below: my crayola-inspired remedy to the rainy-day blues.

To start, I took the Keeper of the Flame shirt,
a universally flattering bright tangerine and added a contrasting navy
skirt by Preen. I like the way the kelly green waistband adds just a
touch of color while still being wearable. It would be really easy to
stick to a nude color shoe, but it's so much more fun to add these apple
green Valentino flats... because, why not? Normally, I love a wild bag
as much as the next girl, but this Reed Krakoff tote is simple and
easy. A good way to keep the whole look from being too busy. Top with a
simple gold necklace and you're good to go.
The result: a look that's super bright, sort of clashing and will definitely chase away the blues.
