Today is one of the cruelest days of the summer... the Monday after a fabulous long weekend. You might be tired, you might be sunburned and you might be just a teensy bit hungover. Soon it will be time for alarms, spreadsheets and meetings. Don't worry, I'm going to help you get dressed.
Lay the foundation with the hardest working item in your closet: a white silk shirt. Yeah, it's super easy to wear and matches just about everything, but more importantly... it's going to look killer with your newly bronzed arms. You'll look polished and let your guns do some subtle bragging on your behalf. Why not?
Next, slip into a simple skirt or tailored shorts depending on where you work. (Incidentally, Leandra Medine covered this exact topic today). You're not ready to be confined by long pants and I have a feeling your legs are looking pretty great too, are they not?
Your pedicure, on the other hand might be a little rough. Do not go near sandals... instead slip into these little skimmers. They look summery but will hide a multitude of sins. Don't forget though, flats and skirts work ONLY when the skirt hits at least 2" above the knee.
Grab a cute jacket or cardigan. After a few days of being outdoors, you'll need to acclimate yourself to frigid office temps slowly. Bonus: this 3.1 Philip Lim number is 70% off at Net-A-Porter.com.
Finally, stash all of your essentials in a slim satchel (beach bag, be gone) and throw on your shades. You can do this!
White silk blouse by VAUGHAN, Jil Sander skirt (also on sale, wahoo!), NastyGal flats, 3.1 Philip Lim silk biker jacket, 3.1 Philip Lim leather satchel (50% off, I'm on a roll), and Balenciaga sunnies.
What are your Monday morning go-tos?
