1. Vetements x Levis
A front row pioneer with an eye for the obscene, nevermind whether you would ever use that controversial back zipper or not, we believe these jeans from the latest Levis x Vetements collab should be judged on more than just shock factor. Fair enough, at first sight they look like they should be in a R. Kelly video, or in Kim K’s wardrobe, but even off-duty models are fighting backstage to get their hands on the hottest collection of the year. Why? Well, because they fit like a glove, and because the pattern matching precision is a designer’s dream. Just don’t forget, those zippers are purely decorative. There’s nothing like a few cocktails to get you unzipping in the name of high fashion, “see, I told you they were real zippers…”
2. Gray Matters
The hottest item in trunk shows from Moda Operandi to Net à Porter, Gray Matters mules are the only sculptural heels you need to know about this season. On our sartorial radar since 2016, the NYC-based brand is becoming a street style favourite with the fashion inner circle and on-screen elite thanks to their architectural dimensions and oh-so-soft colour pop leathers. Designed in the city and made in the heart of Italy, VAUGHAN's current obsession are these Mildred Egg mules in a rendered suede with a hand carved circular wooden heel. Style with our white short sleeved Bettie shirt and high-waisted palazzo pants this season.
3. Silk Pillowcase
Want to know how celebs wake up with their blow out still intact and not a single crease on their perfectly plump skin? A silk pillowcase. It’s as simple as that. Not exclusive to the queen of England or mythical Disney characters, a genuine silk pillowcase is a beauty sleep secret weapon. It won’t just have you feeling like a million bucks either, you’ll look like it too! We agree, $50 on a pillowcase is pretty steep, but after swapping to one of these silken lovelies instead of our average night time staple we saw instant reduction in redness, improved circulation and it stopped bed head – fact! We’ve given our cotton pillowcase the boot and invested in this 22 momme mulberry silk alternative, and we’ve never woken up feeling so stylish!
4. Long Sleeve Layering
Inclement weather calls for a touch of creativity and just a soupçon of daring. Stepping out of your house to glorious sunshine and returning home in a gale-force storm, the weather isn’t quite ready for a cute silken camisole dress yet. Instead, why not try your hand at our latest off-runway hack, long sleeve layering. Turning suiting all the way up to fabulous, our favourite style tip for the season ahead is to pair our favourite ruffle sleeved cotton shirt over a pure white Hepburn classic. Worn with a stern monochrome minimalism or pick n’ mix colour combos, we love the languorous yet playful attraction of fanciful ruching and lightweight luxury.
5. Bowls of Goodness
Having the willpower to eat clean is, well, hard enough, but coming up with inventive recipes that don’t make every meal taste like a trip to the salad bar is pure genius. That’s why we’ve given up on attempting our own awful concoctions and bought the healthy eating bible, Bowls of Goodness by Nina Olsson. Creating recipes that taste and look amazing, our new food guru believes that eating green shouldn’t be a punishment, and now we’ve mastered her flavour-rich Buddha bowls, we’re hooked. Taste the rainbow and feel FULL with her inventive and moreish cookbook, packed with idiot-proof guides and damn fine smoothies, too.
